On April 25, 2014, The West End Community Center’s Youth Program participated in a “Stand Against Racism.”
Started in 2007, The Stand Against Racism™ is a movement of the YWCA that aims to eliminate racism by raising awareness through its annual event. Organizations across the United States are invited to become Participating Sites by hosting their own “Stand.” Individuals are then invited to join any of the “Stands”, where hundreds of thousands of people will take a Stand Against Racism™ across the country.
As a community center serving the ethinically and culturally diverse West End of Providence, WECC believes that all people are worthy of respect and understanding, and that our community is strongest when we stand together and celebrate each others differences and similarities.
